Commitment to Diversity

The Department's commitment to diversity is stronger than ever before and recognizes that a diverse faculty and student population benefits and enriches the educational experience. The Department recruits nationally and internationally for applicants, and currently has graduate students from Africa (Kenya), South America (Brazil, Columbia), Europe (Germany, Czech Republic, Russia), and Asia (India, People's Republic of China, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore). We are particularly proud of the international draw of our program, which includes many excellent scholars funded by their national governments or sources such as the Fulbright Program Scholarships.
We continue to work closely with the University of Utah, Health Sciences Center Office of Diversity, and the Diversity Office in the Graduate School as we strive to recruit students from underrepresented groups to further enrich our campus diversity.
